The AERIS project tries to promote the efficient use of physical infrastructures (technology centers, business and technology incubators, industrial parks, etc.) and intangibles (software and knowledge networks) in the Alentejo and Andalusia area and promotes public-collaboration private sector in all areas related to the aeronautical sector, including the planning of new necessary investments with the possibility of mobilizing other financial instruments of the European Union, private or mixed investments.
Clean Sky, JTI (Joint Technological Initiative, Joint Technological Initiative) is an alliance between the European Commission and representatives of the aerospace industry to support aerospace R&D initiatives. The Agency established a Memorandum of Understanding in 2015 with this JTI, through which the participation of Andalusian companies, especially SMEs, in the projects sponsored by Clean Sky is promoted, thus contributing to the integration of Andalusian companies into the supply chain of the European aeronautical industry. Under the Joint Undertaken (JU) formula, Clen Sky makes 4,000 million euros available to companies for the 2014-2020 period.
The action consists of promoting and supporting dual-use technologies, identifying opportunities for Andalusian companies (especially SMEs) within dual activities, disseminating, advising and encouraging companies to achieve a higher degree of participation. in national and European initiatives that means the optimization of regional technological capacities and the inclusion of industrial capacities at the corresponding levels in the European and international global value chains as well as the development of pilot experiences in the harmonization and coordination of European Funds of support for innovation and competitiveness and the ERDF Funds.
